Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar is a one of the most beautiful tourists place to all and as well as me because its near to my home town Bhatkal in Uttar kannada districts. I like that place very much because I had been enjoying that place from my childhood days. The sea shore, temple, the environment over there gives pleasure for me. Murudeshwara is another name of the Hindu god Shiva. Famous for the world's second-tallest Shiva statue, the town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea. Murdeshwar is also famous for Raja Gopura. This temple is built on the Kanduka Hill which is surrounded on three sides by the waters of the Arabian Sea. It is dedicated to Shiva, and a 20-storied gopura is constructed at the temple. The temple authorities have installed a lift that provides a breath-taking view of the 123-feet Shiva idol from the top of the Raja gopura. There is also a Rameshwar linga at the bottom of the hill, where devotees can do seva themselves. The statue is 123 feet in height and took about two years to build. There is boating facility for tourists and much other enjoyment for the people coming over there.
