Kodachadri
Kodachadri is in Udupi districts. It is one of the most beautiful
places for trekking. It is 53 km from Kundapur. Kodachadri is a mountain peak with dense forests in the Western Ghats. It is the 10th highest mountain peak
in India. Kodachadri forms a background to the famous temple of Mookambika in Kollur. It is located at a
distance of 21 km from Kollur. At the time of rainy season the route will be more slippery and is more dangers to travel. To move to kodachadri no two
wheeler or four wheelers are allowed only the jeep will move to the top of the mountain. The Shola Forests and thick forest cover Kodachadri
and the nearby hills and the place has a cool and beautiful
landscape. The most interesting thing to see in the moving path of kodahadri is
Sarvajna peetha which is a small temple like structure near the peak where Adi Shankara meditated. Ganesha Guha
is near the trekking path to Sarvajna peetha. Iron
Pillar which is 40 feet length is planted erect in front of Moola
Mookambika Temple near peak of Kodachadri. Most of the people go to this place
for the purpose of trekking. And the top of the mountain gives a great sun set
and sun rise scene. Most of the people come to see this scene only.
